Doll House 2 and a Doll

Today my wife and I watched tv and had yummy things to eat :D I did start work on my second doll house but only cut felt pieces for different parts of the house. I'll start putting things together tomorrow.
This is what I got done today.

I also wanted to share with yall another one of my Christmas presents I made last year.  This was for our baby niece Dezi.  I decided to make her a small Waldorf inspired doll.  The little doll was around 10 inches tall and was made with my own pattern.  I made her with brown eyes and brown hair like miss Dezi.  Her little dress was made with a simplicity pattern I already had.
Here she is!

Little Doll For The Take Along Fabric Doll House

Today I worked more on the little doll I made for the doll house.  I made her 2 dresses and some pjs.  It was all a bit difficult for me because it is miniature and i had to do hand sewing which as I've said before isn't my forte.  I did use one pattern I found for the pink dress I made.  I got it from here, Aux Petits Bonheurs de Sophie.  She's got a good tutorial with pictures on there.  The other dress and the pjs I just made it up as I went.  Tomorrow I want to put the rest of the house together and then I'll be done with house number one :)  Here are some pictures of what I got done today.

Continued Progress On Doll House

I took some pictures of what I did yesterday and today.  I'm happy with my progress so far :D  Yesterday I did the back of the house and added decoration to the front of the house.  I wanted the house to have a bit where there could be a picnic like in my Molly's house in this post, Little Fabric Doll House.  So I came up with a fold away garden bit with a picnic blanket. Today I put half of the house together with some decorative bias tape.  I also made the straps and put the little doll together.
The doll is about 5 inches tall :) I got the template for it from this page, diets.ru.  They have a good tutorial on there with pictures.  Links to examples of take along doll houses are in my take-along-fabric-doll-house post.  Tomorrow I'll make her some clothes and put the rest of the inside of the house together.  After that house number 1 will be done :D
Here are some pictures of my progress :)
This is the little doll :) I made her some under pants so she'd be ready for the picture :D
The front of the house with hedges, flower box and butterfly :) You can see the straps were added.
The back of the house with trees, bird house and hedges.
The hedges unbutton to reveal a garden in the backyard perfect for a picnic :)  The flowers were done with my BIGkick machine.
PB&J sandwiches and glasses of milk :)

Quick Post 3

Today I worked on the back of my doll house. I also added a few embellishments to the front of the house. As I stated in my last post, I tried out the idea I had for the back of the house. It worked out nicely I think. I'll share some pictures of what I did tomorrow. I will try and put it all together tomorrow and maybe start working on the little doll who will live in the doll house :)

Continuing With My Take Along Doll House

Well today I continued working on my doll house.  I got the bedroom finished and part of the outside of the front of the house :)  Tomorrow I'll finish the rest of the front of the house then work on the back.  I have an idea for the back of the house just hoping it'll work out :D
This is what I got done today.
This is the bedroom.  The wardrobe's doors open and it has a pocket inside for the little dolls clothes.  The little doll and its clothes are not done yet.  The doll will be able to get in the bed and I'm going to make it a teddy bear as well :)
This is the front of the house.  I still have a few more things to add to this.

Take Along Fabric Doll House

Today I worked on one of  my bag houses :)  Well they are actually called take along fabric doll houses or travel doll houses.  I made the living room, kitchen, bathroom and dining room.  It was a combination of machine sewing, hand sewing and glue gunning.  I think my favorite room so far is the kitchen.  I was able to embellish the kitchen a lot.  The fridge, cabinets and oven door open. you can put dishes in the sink and there is a bowl on the counter that you can put a spoon in.  There is food in the fridge that you can take out and the dishes in the cabinets can be taken out as well :)  Tomorrow I'm going to start on the bedroom and then work on the outside of the house :)
I love the idea of a take along house :)  It's kind of like the fabric house I made and showed in this post, Little Fabric Doll House.  I found a lot of inspiration for travel doll houses on google. Here are some of my favorite ones :)
Country Kitty - really lovely little travel doll house :)
pinterest picture - this is a picture of a bedroom for a take along house
craftjuice - cute take along house :)

We will see how I get on tomorrow with what's left to do on the house :)
Here are some pictures of what i did today :)
These are the dining room and the bathroom.

These are the kitchen and the living room.

quick post 2

Had a ladies night here at my house today :D It was my wife's mom and sister, Pauline my wife and me.  We had a lot of yummy things to eat like cheese, crackers, lovely seeded bread, dips, crisps, french fancies, scones with clotted cream and jam and bakewell tart.  We talked and laughed a lot all the way till after 10pm :) sooooo there was no time for sewing till tomorrow.  I went shopping during the day for supplies for my next project :)  Got some felt. glue sticks, batting and bias tape.  I've started cutting my bag house and will start sewing tomorrow maybe :) I'll share more about that tomorrow :)

The Car Caddy :)

Another project I worked on last year for my nephews were car caddies.  I made 3 of these and they were very very fun to make :) I googled car play mats to get ideas of what I could add to my car caddies and found a lot of very creative ideas :)  I liked the look of the car caddy on this page, The Imagination Station.  She's got a very good tutorial on there with pictures.  I made my own pattern for mine.  I made them into pouches with handles and personalised them with my nephews' names.  I made each with a different fabric and the play mat itself was done in felt.  I lost my pictures so only have pictures of one of them to show you.
This is how my car caddy looked when it was closed :)  It had a velcro fastener and the letters for my nephew's name were made out of felt with my handy dandy BIGkick machine.

This is how it looked when it was half way opened. There are 3 velcro fasteners to keep it neatly closed.

This is the caddy when I was making it.  I hadn't yet added the street lines and hadn't finished adding the different buildings or the flap where the cars would be stored.

This is how the car caddy looked when I was finished.  The mat on the playing side was all done in felt.  It's a big piece of green felt for the background, black for the streets and other different colors for the buildings.  The street lines were made with yellow embroidery thread.  I also embellished the mat with little felt trees and street lights.

I made a police station which was sewn on the mat with the bottom left unsewn so the car could be put in.  The McDonald's  building is a drive thru :D  I sewed it on the mat on the top and bottom left the sides open so the cars could drive thru :)

There was a garage also with a gas and air pump and a car wash that was also a drive thru :)
The school, hospital, fire station and HEB grocery shop all had the bottoms open so the cars could be driven in.

This is the flap where the cars are stored.  I decided to make it look like little houses where the cars live :D  The top of the houses was left open so the cars could drive out.

They were very fun to make and the boys liked them a lot.  A very good Christmas present idea :)
I'll share more of last years presents in another post and will also share my new project for the next set of Christmas presents for this year :)

The Coloring Book Carrier

Last year I decided I was going to make some of the presents we were going to take for our nephews and nieces in Texas.  There are 14 soon to be 15 kids in Texas and 1 here in the UK.  That's a lot of presents :D soooo I decided to make some of the presents last year and am doing the same this year :)
I wanted to share with you what I made for them last year.  I made 4 different projects.  The first project was the coloring book carrier.  I made 4 of these for 4 of our nieces.  They liked them :)  I got the idea from a picture I saw on pinterest.  The tutorial I used came from CRAZY little PROJECTS.  Her tutorial is great and has pictures.  I made mine for 24 crayons.  I took pictures of my 4 when I was finished but I can't find my pictures now :( only a couple of pictures of one of them.
Here it is.

They were fun to make. Was fun choosing all the different fabrics to use.  I decided to personalise each of them with the girl's names.  I embroidered their names on a piece of fabric which I then sewed onto the carrier and then embellished them with appliques I made with my BIGkick machine but since I lost y pictures I can't show you that.  We got crayola colors, coloring books and note pads to put in them.  When miss Lilah-Mai gets a bit older I'll be making her one of these :)

Doll Dress #3

Today was a coughing day for me :(  I thought I'd finish off my diaper bags but no.  I felt sickish so I had a little lay down and we also had some visitors.  I did finish the last little dress and bloomers set.  Tomorrow we go grocery shopping and if I don't feel too sick I'll finish off the diaper bags by making the bibs and putting some flower appliques, that I'll make with my lovely BIGkick machine, on the bags.  Then I'll start the next set of presents :D
Here is the little dress and bloomers set I made today.
